"WOMEN", the popular magazine that addresses Women's Issues, particularly concerning cancer and cancer prevention, just included in its summer 2011 publication an article on "The Wonders of Raw Chocolate."
Great News! The world is changing!
Chocolate in it's raw, pure, unadulterated form is called 'raw cacao'. It is causing quite a lot of excitement because of its "nutritious benefits" and "healing properties". The article reports that "raw cacao is considered a superfood because it is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants".
When I entered the world of Raw Food to improve my own health, the first thing I learned about was the wonderful things you can make out of raw cacao. I instantly knew I was on the right track, and everything was going to be alright. This culinary gold superfood literally reshaped my vision of possibilities. For the holidays, we will talk about making raw cacao candies and mousse.
But let's get started with this very, very easy recipe for making 'Our Yummy Raw Hot Chocolate' for those chilly mid mornings or evenings when you need a healthy snack that won't fill you up and will guarantee 'sweet' dreams.
'OUR YUMMY RAW HOT CHOCOLATE'
One cup home made raw almond mylk
2 tablespoons raw cacao
2 tablespoons agave
2 teaspoons pure vanilla
Combine all of the above in the blender, and mix on high. Next, pour it into a small sauce pan on low heat. Using an inexpensive kitchen thermometer to gauge the temperature and preserve the enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, slowly stir until the liquid reaches 115 degrees. Remove it from the stove, pour into a warmed mug, and Enjoy!
